1940: George A. Lyle, 40, b. in Virginia, teacher college; Priscill, 33, b. in Penn. (US Census for Germantown, Maryland)

1942; "George A. Lyle has finished his --- in the Annapolis' Chess Club's annual tournament" (Evening Capital (Annapolis, Maryland), 12 Feb 1942, p. 1) (almost unreadable digitally read copy)

1951: "The first tournament for 10 second chess for the championship of Maryland will be held Saturday evening in Annapolis. The Annapolis Chess Club, R. P.
