New Zealand Women’s Chess Championship 2021, Auckland October 6th–9th 2021
Organised by Waitakere Chess Club
Venue: Green Bay High School Library, 161 Godley Rd, Green Bay. Two divisions – an Open and a Reserve Championship for females rated under 1300 (who can still choose to play in the Open) Format: 7 round Swiss, over 4 days, two rounds per day with one round on the final day Time control: 90 mins plus 30 sec per move.
NZCF and FIDE rated where possible
Intl Arbiter: Bruce Pollard
The 2021 Championship is dedicated to Helen Courtney – an ex Waitakere CC member and 3 x NZ Women’s Olympiad rep who died last year. Helen’s family and friends are generously sponsoring the tournament. Prizefund: over $5700 including $1500 for the winner Entry fee: $70 for the Championship, $50 for the Reserve, with a family discount of $10 each player. Entry form with full details available here.
