Nov-23-17  whiteshark: <Eižens Kārlis Vāgenheims> (German: Eugen Karl Wagenheim) was a Baltic German journalist and chess player.

According to the profession, was a journalist, head of the department of the Peterhof Telegraph Agency.

He is one of the strongest chess players in Riga.

He was editor of the Rigaer Tageblatt chess department.

In Riga's Chess Federation in the 1898 Main Event, he shared the second place with Robert Bētiņi (the winner of the tournament was Karlis Bēņšš ). 1. In the Baltic Chess Union congress, he has divided the third place with K. Bytinis and H. Zeibot. [check transscription of names]
