  tamar: 6.5 from last 7 games to take clear first at Tata Challengers. Always seems to be overlooked, even in victory.

  perfidious: Most likely because while this young player is a solid pro, there is nothing flashy about his style.

Much more will be seen of Mendonca in days to come.

Jan-29-24  Refused: Well, I guess it also has to do with him being Indian. There're just too many young Indian players atm. Compared to them (Gukesh and Pragg, or even Erigaisi) he is just not a stand out prospect.
