Otto Bernard Wurzburg, son of Joseph Wurzburg and Mary Pauline (Shinkman) Wurzburg, was a lifelong resident of Grand Rapids, MI.

He worked for the US Postal Service for 49 years, retiring in 1944 as Superintendent of the Registry Division in Grand Rapids.

An expert at chess, a game he had played since he was 10, Mr. Wurzburg was widely known in chess circles throughout the country. During his life he composed more than 1200 problems in three or more moves, and was an associate editor of The Problem, a weekly chess problem magazine, starting in December, 1914.

William A Shinkman was his uncle.
