 | | perfidious: This is symptomatic of a party which has bowed to the will of one man, no matter how misguided, and takes on positions featuring ever greater tendencies towards extremism in like fashion to their standard bearer. We have seen this in the ostracism of Liz Cheney from the inner circle, someone who was by no means opposed to Trump's aims--to a point, and with the consequent elevation of such back-benchers as Elise Stefanik and Marjorie Taylor Greene to positions of prominence, albeit circumscribed in Greene's case by her extreme right-wing views. |

 | | devere: "‘There’s no path out of economic oblivion for Russia’: New report reveals how corporate exodus has already wiped out decades of post–Cold War growth" By Yvonne Lau
<Over the past six months, Russia has fortified its economic defenses after Western countries pummeled it with sanctions over its invasion of Ukraine.Despite the crackdown, the Kremlin continues to rake in billions in oil and gas revenues, which helped the ruble rally to become the world’s best-performing currency this year. But all is not well with the Russian economy.
The Western sanctions and widespread corporate exodus from Russia since Feb. 24 have ravaged the Russian economy—and its future prospects look even bleaker, according to a new report from Yale University researchers and economists led by Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, Yale School of Management professor and senior associate dean for leadership studies. It’s now become clear that the Kremlin’s “finances are in much, much more dire straits than conventionally understood” and that the large-scale “business retreats and sanctions are catastrophically crippling the Russian economy,” the researchers wrote.
Deterioration
As of Aug. 4, over 1,000 companies, including U.S. firms like Nike, IBM, and Bain consulting, have curtailed their operations in Russia. Though some businesses have stayed, the mass corporate exodus represents 40% of Russia’s GDP and reverses 30 years’ worth of foreign investment, says the Yale report. The international retreat is morphing into a larger crisis for the country: a collapse in foreign imports and investments. Russia has descended into a technological crisis as a result of its isolation from the global economy. It’s having trouble securing critical technology and parts. “The domestic economy is largely reliant on imports across industries…with few exceptions,” says the report. Western export controls have largely halted the flow of imported technology from smartphones to data servers and networking equipment, straining its tech industry. Russia’s biggest internet company, Yandex—the country’s version of Google—is running short of the semiconductor chips it needs for its servers. At the same time, Russia’s “domestic production has come to a complete standstill—with no capacity to replace lost businesses, products, and talent,” the Yale report said. Russian producers and manufacturers are unable to fill the gaps left by the collapse of Western imports.> https://finance.yahoo.com/news/no-p... |

 | | HeMateMe: McDonald's has sold it's entire physical presence in Russia to another food vendor. I would guess losing the valued name, Trademark, high quality food production and serving practices (don't laugh--mickey D's gets high marks in the USA from food inspectors), intriguing menu, commercial product tie ins would make those street franchises about 50% what they were worth as McDonald's restaurants, maybe even more than a 50% drop in value. At least half of them will simply go out of business. why pay western prices for shiddy Russian food? |

 | | George Wallace: The libs of the Rogoff page should celebrate and I'll you why. <Steve>, the moderator, has specifically said that the !!! HOMO ALERTS !!! are not allowed on <CG> anymore. It's not that it breaks any of the Seven Commandments, it's just that he doesn't want to tolerate the opposing political and religious viewpoints, and as a moderator, he is going to use his position of power on this website to censor people like me who speak against homos, sodomites and other perverts. <Steve> doesn't pretend that this is not the case. That is, he is upfront and unashamed of the fact that he is using his position as moderator to silence those people who he disagrees with. <Steve> has also come up with a new rule that everyone should be aware of: 1. No criticizing ANYTHING he does - ever - or else you will be suspended and or banned. No matter how constructive the criticism, please take note, it will be labeled, "degrading the staff" and you'll be sent to Siberia. 2. No criticizing sodomy. It's no longer allowed on <CG>. As of today, <CG> is loudly and proudly PRO SODOMY and any Christian thoughts that come against it will not be tolerated by the Beautiful People. One must understand that sodomy is the <central focus> of the libs. To better understand the New <CG>, with <Steve> in charge, try to think of it as an extremely woke college campus where we refer to women as Birthing Persons and so forth. Also, like many woke college campuses, Christians and conservatives are shouted down and not allowed to speak freely. The attitude of the admin is this: "Yeah, that's about right...so what are you gonna do about it?" Truly, the libs get to celebrate as they've beat down <Susan>, wore her out, and now she has given up completely on the free speech aspect of this website. I mean completely given up! She has rolled over. You see, <nok> and <zanzibar> and <rbd> trolled the support forum constantly and insulted the owner of the site nearly every day. Little did they know, <steve> is of the same politics as they are, so, on the inside, <steve> was able to talk <susan> into giving him more POWER, and now, well, it's like having <nok> in charge. So take a bow, libs. You knew you'd break the old lady down, and you did. I guess I'll just have to go quietly off into the sunset now that <Steve> has your backs - and no one has our backs. |

 | | George Wallace: I'm still waiting on the admins to make public the approved words list. Now about sock accounts, well, they might be necessary now that tyranny and censorship is back in power here at <CG>. I have a contractor from Bangladesh who screwed up a job I put him on. He wants to get more gigs from me, but he's in the dog house. I wouldn't even have to pay him anything, not a dime, for him to use a VPN and create 1000 accounts over the next year, every day, a few here and there. All I have to do is make it an addon to the next job and he'll do it for free. Different IP addresses every time (down to the Class C IP), different locations, different emails - very easy. Just sayin', it will take me ZERO time to adjust if I have to, or if I want to. The point is this:
You can brag that you will accidentally delete tens of thousands of Rogoff pages "by accident while merging" and then delete tens of thousands of Rogoff pages "by accident while merging" and <Susan> and <Steve> will call you a hero and kiss your ass. But you absolutely CANNOT say any not-positive about sodomy. It's not allowed on this website. On <CG>, if there is any talk of sodomy, homos, drag queen story hour, or any other such stuff, it must be positive, glowing talk. Example:
Why yes, as a progressive liberal, I think it's a great idea to force little children to spend QUALITY TIME with drag queens. It's good for their development because maybe a significant number of them will grow up to be drag queens too. That is the new <Elite Posting> and it is <Steve> approved. When posting on politics, religion, society or culture on the Rogoff page, you must remember your priorities. Such posts must be made with the proper framework in mind: Will <Steve> approve of this post? If the answer is yes, then you can post it, and you should. But if the answer is no, then you should not post it, because the main thing is to please <Steve>. It's very important.
He made it clear that if he is displeased, he will suspend you. It's kind of like Hitler, except there are no ovens involved. Well, close enough. I think <Steve> should spell out his political positions on every issue, so that way we can always agree with him in our posts. Then he won't delete our posts. |

 | | chancho: Wallace trying to manipulate the moderator.
Bwahahahahaha...
<Hilarious!!>
Whether his political views align with the moderator or not, is not the crux of the matter.
The Mod should be dispassionate, and not biased.
Following the posting guidelines is what matters!
I had some of my posts deleted (deservedly so!) and I am not crying about it.
Wallace wants to keep repeating his tired bilge because he gets his jollies off by disrespecting others.
(He's called me a cuck many times over.)
You can clearly see the desperation in his posts when he talks about "aligning" his views with the mod.
Ridiculous! |

Mt 24;42a, 44
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Stay awake and be ready!
For you do not know on what day your Lord will come.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Lk 12:35-40
Jesus said to his disciples:
“Gird your loins and light your lamps
and be like servants who await their master’s return from a wedding,
ready to open immediately when he comes and knocks.
Blessed are those servants
whom the master finds vigilant on his arrival.
Amen, I say to you, he will gird himself,
have the servants recline at table, and proceed to wait on them.
And should he come in the second or third watch
and find them prepared in this way,
blessed are those servants.
Be sure of this:
if the master of the house had known the hour
when the thief was coming,
he would not have let his house be broken into.
You also must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect,
the Son of Man will come.” |
