Oct-21-23  stone free or die: <<Missy> What does the <QD> denote?>

A good question. Since no one's answered yet I'll offer some wild speculations.

First, Xiao Tong (chinese style) is fairly common, so I could easily imagine QD could be an add-on.

Doing a google search on <China QD> yields this:

https://www.google.com/search?q=chi...

Suggesting it could be <Qualified Domestic> or <Quantum Design>.

OTOH - doing a google search on <QD China> yields:

https://www.google.com/search?q=qd+...

Here, the more reasonable suggestion of QD = <city of Qingdao> is suggested.

Just whistling in the dark here...

(Checking the player's FIDE history for tournaments doesn't really back this up, but then again, most of his first FIDE tournaments were national competitions)

.

Dec-17-23  EvanTheTerrible: Watch out for this kid. Chinese players tend to be extremely underrated until they see international competition, similar to Indian players. He was 2142 to start the year, but will end the year nearing 2500, if not passing that mark.
