Mar-06-06  Chunkey Monkey: Is this the Palme in the Icelandic-Palme gambit in the Scandinavian? i.e. 1. e4 e5 2. ed Nf6 3. c4 e6!? Does anyone know where to get more theory on this opening too by the way?
Jan-05-08  whiteshark: No game from the 1950 tournament (Melk, 16-30.07.1950), where he became <Österreichischer Staatsmeister>.
Mar-06-08  brankat: <whiteshark> CG.com people are waiting for You to find them :-)
Mar-06-08  brankat: Also a photograph!

Mar-06-08  brankat: <whiteshark> Thank You. I knew I could count on You.

Also, this was my first time on the <Berliner Schachverband> site. Looks impressive. May be a good place for me to learn German :-)

Will now check some links there relating to Dr.Lasker.

Mar-06-08  whiteshark: LOL <sneaky pete>

<Heinrich Heine, <Buch der Lieder>> http://www.geocities.com/~bblair/01...

Note it's of cource <einer <Palme>>

:D

Mar-06-08  euripides: ...and it's 'Im Norden' rather than 'Im hohen Norden' in the second line, I think. Pushkin did a Russian version.
Sep-13-09  whiteshark: Good bio with some rare photos can be found here: http://herderschach.de/SFS-Chronik/...
Sep-13-09  whiteshark: <Chunkey Monkey> Palme wrote an article on his gambit in the first issue of the German chess-magazine "KAISSIBER", p.15-17.

Note: *The Icelandic gambit stems from Austria. :D
