Eric Dale Bone is a National Master. He won the Southwest Open Championship in 1963, 1966 (tied with two others), 1969 (tied with two others), 1973 (tied with four others), and 1974. In 1963, 1966, and 1969, he won the Texas Closed Championship. He was a former USCF Secretary.
