  GrahamClayton: Beckhardt was a student at the College of the City of New York, who played in a qualification tournament to decide the American team that would play in the 1933 Olympiad in Folkestone. Beckhart won the 1936 Bronx County Championship in New York.

Beckhardt seems have been a pretty strong player if he competed in a US Olympiad qualification tournament - did he ever compete in any US Open Tournaments in the late 1930's or 1940's?
