Honza Cervenka: Chessgames.com, the name of this player is not Laszlo Barcza, but Laszlo Barczay.
Jan-03-03  PVS: So they tricked me!
Jan-03-03  GregorMendel: I'd always saw it as "Barcza" - where'd you hear that, Honza?
Jan-03-03  AgentRgent: There was a player named Barcza but his name was Gedeon. This is Laszlo Barczay (http://www.fide.com/ratings/card.ph...).
Jan-03-03  GregorMendel: You're right, I was thinking of Gedeon Barcza. Thanks, Agent.

HeMateMe: Chess Rule No. 1: You have to have a crazy, unspellable name, if you want to have an opening variation named after you.
Feb-21-11  haydn20: I imagine his name is perfectly straightforward for a Hungarian. Honfi-Barczay 1977 has a pretty combo at the end.
Feb-21-11  Maatalkko: Great picture. He looks ticked.
