Kibitzer's Corner
May-12-10  shalgo: Mr. Fifty Percent, as described in the May 2010 Kibitzer column at Chess Cafe:

Some of the games referred to in the column:

Mar-25-11  shalgo: Although you can still find his games on the ICCF's web site, his results have now been deleted from all of their tournaments and he has no rating.

http://www.iccf-webchess.com/Player....

It was all done very quietly, apparently. (Incidentally, Tim Harding's article, which does not mention Mr. Fifty Percent by name, is now available here: http://www.chesscafe.com/text/kibit...)

Oct-09-14  DiscoJew: In a nutshell, this player played correspondence chess in tournaments with multiple games being played by each player simultaneously. He would pair his first opponent with his second opponent and make moves based on the moves played by the corresponding player. This way he could always count on achieving at least 50% and gain rating points. The Tim Harding article is a fascinating read on this guy, written like a detective story.
