Nov-10-03  refutor: anti-computer strategy seemed to work pretty well v. "little fritz". i'm surprised that the GMs didn't try to test "little fritz"'s opening book, particularly after pocket fritz uncorked 1.d4 c5 2.dxc5?! in Pocket Fritz vs Leko, 2001
Jul-16-04  zer0: If anyone installs Pocket Fritz 2 and it doesn't work (it hanged my pda on exit, originally), then install the Service Pack: http://www.chessbase.com/download/i... I did it this way originally: http://www.chesscentral.com/faq/ins..., but I think you might just be able to install SP2 and then go from there
Aug-12-05  AdrianP: Anyone who has a Pocket PC and wants to use it as a chess clock should download the excellent freeware program StopTime 2.0 from here http://home.comcast.net/~jonsachs/

Apr-07-06  refutor: question about pocket fritz...what sort of database capabilities does it have? what i *really* want is pocket chessbase
Mar-28-09  midknightblue: pocket fritz 2 doesnt seem to work on windows mobile 6.1. I had it working fine on my old cingular 8125 with some older windows mobile version. Now (even with the SP2 fix) it doesnt work. It actually goes into the device fine, then asks what language you want to select and there are no languages to select. People in some rybka forum had the same exact description of their unsuccessful attempts. I guess I need to upgrade to pocketfritz 3
Mar-28-09  midknightblue: refutor - pocket pc 2 did not have position searches, but it sounds like pocket fritz 3 may have much more. Nonetheless, even 2 was a pretty good database. You can save your french games in one file, sicilian games in another....that type of thing
Mar-28-09  kurtrichards: Expensive. Better play jester chess at chessgame.com. It is free.
Aug-27-09  sagahelten: Pocket Fritz 4 in the Mercosur Cup 2009
"The global launch of Pocket Fritz 4, based on the Hiarcs 13.0 chess engine, could not have been more auspicious. In this category seven tournament the program, running on a handheld Pocket PC, scored a stunning 9.5/10 points, with an Elo performance of 2938."

Jun-07-12  Marmot PFL: <The Copa Mercosur took place 4th-14th August 2009. Pocket Fritz 4 won with 9½/10, it is the tradition that a version of Fritz wins this event. >

Makes it sound like they find some poor but titled players willing to give up a point for a share in Fritz's profits.
