She qualified for the FIDE Knock-Out Women's World Championship (2012), surprising many by making it the fourth round by defeating compatriot WGM Yang Shen, Lithuanian GM Victoria Cmilyte and US IM Irina Krush. She met WGM Ju Wenjun in the fourth round and tied the classical games and the first round of rapid game tiebreakers but succumbed in the second and faster pair of rapid tiebreakers to exit the contest.
