Excellent guitarist. I say him play with the Johnny Winter band many years ago.

perfidious: Somehow, I could never quite reconcile Derringer's early work with the McCoys with his later output.

saffuna: Didn't know about that. But it might not be easy to make a living as a young musician, might take time to find the right place.

Johnny Winter was a headliner at the time, playing with him was probably a good job.

Check It Out: Rhyacian is the center piece song of an astonishingly good album called Precambrian by The Ocean, and album I've listened to hundreds of times.

I know, I go on about them all the time. Their metal music composition is elite level.

For those unaccustomed to the heaviness and especially the raw vocals, it can be an immediate turn off. But this music has depths that can only be plumbed with repeat listening. The Ocean is good at mixing melodic vocals with screaming, and their thematic development is complex in nature and classically influenced.

Check out the breaks at 6:05 and 8:12. Whew!

gezafan: I've become interested in a punk rock band, The Gits. They're from the 1990s Seattle scene. I even got a book about them from the library but i haven't read it yet.

Unfortunately, their lead singer, Mia Zapata, was murdered in 1993. It's too bad. She was a good singer.

Here's a live version of their song Second Skin.

This is a thread about music. If you want to discuss politics or social issues take it to Rogoff.

Is that supposed to be funny? This poor woman got murdered and you joke about it?

Low class.

perfidious: I do not propose to discuss politics here; that said, <gazafan> should really take up his hypocrisy with <fredfradiavolo>, who insinuates politics on game and player games as a matter of course (ironically excepting Rogoff but for rare occasions), then points the finger.

Check It Out: <gezafan> The Gits were great. Mia's murder was a real blow here. She reminds me of a raw version of the Linda Perry from 4 Non Blondes:
