GrahamClayton: Seeing that all of these games are played in the Netherlands, I am pretty certain that they were actually played by Willem Fick

Stonehenge: No, L Fick was a brother of Willem Fick.
Mar-16-13  thomastonk: I think this is Dr. Louis J.J.M Fick, who died April 18, 1978.

The initials L.J.J. are often used in chess reports in newspapers, e.g. on the "Bondswedstrijden" in Leeuwarden 1955. On October 9, 1978 De Telegraaf published the death notice of his wife, and there the name and his date of death are mentioned.

BTW, he and his brother Willem Fick both married a wife with the name Mastboom (Willem's wife was Bernardina Henriette Maria Mastboom and Louis' wife Josepha Catharina Maria Mastboom).
