Jul-31-13  Maatalkko: None too good at blitz or rapid, for an IM, is he? And none too active either. Let's see, all his norms came from tournaments where Nikolai Pushkov was Chief Arbiter.

hmm....

offramp: Very odd indeed. Akbaev has 47 games in the chessgames.com database, +3, =4, -40.

That must be one of the worst records on the whole site - and he's rated 2475.

Two of his wins are very short...

Aug-05-13  LIFE Master AJ: A fake IM?

Maybe if I send Pushkov an envelope full of money, he will arrange for me to get an IM norm ...

Aug-13-13  JoergWalter: <Aug-05-13 LIFE Master AJ: A fake IM? Maybe if I send Pushkov an envelope full of money, he will arrange for me to get an IM norm ... > you have to rob fort knox for that
Aug-13-13  Nina Myers: <Maybe if I send Pushkov an envelope full of money, he will arrange for me to get an IM norm ... > Even Pushkov hasn't sunk to such depths.

perfidious: <Nina>: Good ol' <AJ> must be thinking of tennis, where he might be able to spread some baksheesh to some players in order to get them to dump matches.
Aug-14-13  JoergWalter: If you like me having an IM norm and would like to support my efforts ... please go to the "Paypal" website, (http://www.paypal.com); amd name a donation using my main e-mail address. (LifeMasterAJ@yahoo.com)
Aug-15-13  JoergWalter: <perfidious> can he use his foodstamps as baksheesh? just temporarily until his cashflow problem is fixed.

perfidious: <Joerg>: One would assume there are penalties for such misuse, but that has never stopped others from having a go, I am sure.
May-28-15  kereru: He's a GM now. Every single one of the tournaments he scored a norm in was directed by Pushkov. What an extraordinary coincidence! Once he got his title he started losing to players rated 2100 or less. http://ratings.fide.com/individual_...
