Jun-03-05  lopium: Ahaahah! There's 2 games Saduleto vs Polerio, but one was played 211 years later, so I guess there is an error about a date of one game, at least.
Oct-15-07  pawnofdoom: Hey I found some information on this guy.
"Giovanni Saduleto was a 16th century master who did some of the first analyses of the Queen's Gambit. 3. e4 is the original idea of the gambit. Black accepts the poffered pawn (which can't be held) and White establishes broad pawn center." 1. d4 d5 2. c4 dxc4 3. e4 is the Saduleto Variation of the Queens Gambit Accepted http://www.democraticunderground.co...
Oct-15-07  Plato: <pawnofdoom> Nice research, thanks. The early theory of the Queen's Gambit (and Queen's pawn openings in general) dates back further than I realized.
