Dieter Alfred Mohrlok was awarded the IM title in 1969. He was 2nd at Ludwigsburg 1969 and 9th= with Istvan Bilek, Hans-Joachim Hecht, Robert Huebner and Jozsef Szily at Büsum 1969. He also played on the West German Olympiad teams of 1964, 1970 and 1976.

Dieter Mohrlok was also a Correspondence GM and became European Correspondence Champion in 1992.
