Bruce Hayden was born Henry Bruce Cobb Ellenband in Glasgow, Scotland on April 7, 1907. At some point, he changed his name to "Bruce Hayden." He played in the 1954 Scottish Championship. He won the Brilliancy Prize at Hastings 1947/48 for B Hayden vs W A Winser, 1948, though it was played in the Premier Reserves B section.

Hayden was the chess columnist for The Times of London, and was a regular contributor to Chess Review. He was a great raconteur. Some of his chess tales appear in his book Cabbage Heads and Chess Kings.

That sounds like B Hayden vs NN, 1952 . If it is, that would solve one of the 1178 NNs
