Penguincw: Congrats to Ayaz Mammadov for how he did at the Nakhchivan Open 2015. He entered as the 34th seed, and finished in 39th place, but it's worth noting that he was the <only> player in the tournament that had to face <each> of the top <3> seeds, and he even had <black> in <all> those games. :| Tough luck, as he finished with 4/9, due to the high average ratings of his opponents (2532), he finished in 39th place (4/9 finishers stretched from 39th to 48th). Also, he went 1.5/3 (+1,-1,=1) in those games.

He also gained 9.9 rating points, but no GM norm due to a 2489 TPR.

Jan-27-22  dunican: I think the player in the picture is Rauf Mamedov.

Jan-27-24  whiteshark: PotD but no game since Febr 2019
What is there to say about it?
Feb-27-24  Cecco: And how can he be just an International Master with a highest rating of 2622?
