Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-20-05  DeepBlade: Arasan is a strong program, but on high level it is rather drawish.
Nov-20-05  csmath: I think Arasan is rather weak program and far away from Shredder 9.1, Fruit 2.2.1, or Fritz 9. Way behind these. If you are looking for strong amateur programs then Toga and King are certainly better.
Nov-28-05  DeepBlade: reminder:Arasan is freeware
Jan-04-06  blingice: I played it against Chessmaster 10th Edition, and it was a draw. CM was white.
Jan-04-06  DeepBlade: <blingice> Yes the engine is very strong if you compare it to commercial engines like The King (engine of the Chessmaster game). Im gonna play Fritz 5.23 vs Arasan.
Jan-04-06  blingice: Winner?
Jan-04-06  blingice: I played Arasan vs. GNUChess. Arasan dominated it, and GNUChess played a wacky move, leading to mate.

I'm deleting GNUChess and WinBoard...

Jan-06-06  DeepBlade: Ive played Arasan-Fritz 5.32
Arasan Dominated the opening and middlegame, the opening was Tarrasch Defence, but Fritz snatched some pawns in the middlegame, which was big help in the endgame.
Feb-02-06  hidude: Fritz 9 beats Arasan SOO badly.
Apr-25-06  Loisp: are you playingg the programms on different PCs or on the same PC?
Aug-29-06  hidude: different
Aug-29-06  hidude: Fritz on Laptop vs Arasan on PC.
Arasan misses like, mates in three
Aug-29-06  dramas79: Any idea why it is called arasan? In Tamil it means King. It used to beat me everytime (still would).
Jun-16-07  fndmiranda: Me against arasan9.5(i gave 2 Minutes to arasan, each move)...Ow...i think i was better at some moment. Arasan ...30.Rf3 kills me.
