Feb-11-05 Caro-Kann (B10)
|
I sacrifice like Tal: but then again french players say "I don't lose a tempo on c5" so the Caro-Kann aint perfect... But I prefer the CK since I know I can get a draw with it for sure. I play the 4...Nd7 line which is rock solid for the most part unless white wants to play the complicated ... |

I sacrifice like Tal: <Willem Wallekers 1. Nf3 allows 1 ... d5.
There's no free lunch.>
Then you play 2.d4 and play a Queens Gambit. No problem! Better than having to play against a 1.c4 e5. *Shudder* I dont like playing 1.c4 e5 anymore because in one tournament, I opened c4 and ... |

Dec-21-04 Vladimir Kramnik

I sacrifice like Tal: PinkPanther, don't you think it's even worse seeing a theoretical draw being played out? Sounds like more of a waste of time to me watching GMs try to get a win in a King + Pawn vs King + Bishop endgame. And say someone does fallout in the theoretical draw and blunders. |

Nov-23-04 Korchnoi vs H Kaenel, 1979
|
I sacrifice like Tal: I'll put it this way.
"Black has done nothing wrong."
So, White's 'attack' should be unsound in some sense. I think Blac is fine is he can castle queenside and offset the white centre comehow. Or maybe playing e6 or d6 instead of Nf6. I'm not sure. But it IS ... |

Nov-22-04 Korchnoi vs A Malagon Diaz, 1970
|
I sacrifice like Tal: This game is a real beaut. When Korchnoi played his rook to d1 I wondered where his King was going to go. What to dou know, first he willingly 'pins' his king on f2, then moves it onto g3. After all the initial hoo-ha, there's lots of sorties. It looks like there's ... |

Nov-10-04 Kasparov vs F Vallejo Pons, 2004
|
I sacrifice like Tal: Ahh found it! From NewInChess. notes by Yury Dokhoian. "28.g4 Rg5
29.Qh7 Kf8
30.Bf5! (Bc5 is also sufficient) ...Bd6
31.Qh6 Rg7
32.Re6 fe6
33.Be6 and white wins." |

I sacrifice like Tal: <combofan> He probably meant a long proper match. with 20 games and long time controls. More or less like Leko. I personally think Kramnik is the best match player in the world. |
