I'm a single mom, green homesteader, veteran researcher and blogger living in rural eastern Iceland.I'm quite experienced at starting with little to accomplish much, as has my family going back seven generations.
I sometimes joke about my family having been pioneers in farm stay tourism in Iceland. Only, we never charged anyone for anything, which might explain why we never became rich!
Particular interests: eating green stuff, watering plants, playing with dolls, napping.
Crazy Icelanders eat fermented, ammonia filled Greenland shark meat (aka <Hákarl>) that they've let sit for 5 months before consuming. The taste is so bad that they have to wash it down with a shot of <Brennivín> (schnapps flavored with caraway seeds) right away.
Live life to the fullest.
Enjoy what makes you happy.
Root for the underdog.
Cherish your time here.
Always say "thank you."
Tell the ones you love how much they mean to you.
Never give up.
Let your words be kind.
Never go down without a fight.
Stand up for what you believe in.
Sleep when you're tired.
Make amends.

The Icelandic database http://timarit.is/ has much interesting material, a good starting-point being searches with the words ‘skák’, ‘Spassky’ and ‘Fischer’.
