Baby Hawk: <NotYetAGM> It is very nice to see you are still on ChessGames.com. I love your work organizing tactical ideas, and use your collection in my chess classes. Thank you for all the work that you have done!

   Jan-12-20 S Rosenthal vs Steinitz, 1873

Baby Hawk: This is the first game in "Bishop v Knight the verdict" by Steve Mayer.

   Jan-01-20 Igor Ivanov vs W Hughes, 1984

Baby Hawk: The pawn centers are lock up. Since the play is on the wings the kings are safer in the middle.

   Jan-01-20 Kmoch vs Alekhine, 1922

Baby Hawk: It is often a bad idea to push your pawns away from your castled king. It is a really bad idea if you do it against Alekhine.

   Jan-01-20 Duncan vs A Alperovich, 1990

Baby Hawk: It seems like a bad idea to move all your minor pieces to the Queen side after castling on the King side.

   Jan-01-20 Sutovsky vs Morozevich, 1998

Baby Hawk: 18.O-O-O O-O-O 19.Bxf5 Qf4+ 20.Kb1 Rxd1+ 21.Rxd1 White is winning. This is very interesting. White wins if he allows Black to castle, but loses if he prevents it.

   Jan-01-20 Sultan Khan vs H K Mattison, 1931

Baby Hawk: <talsqueen> By move 14 White's king had better pawn protection on e2 than on c1.

   Dec-28-19 Veresov vs Botvinnik, 1938

Baby Hawk: There is a video on this endgame. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xR3...

   Jun-02-18 P Almagro Llamas vs Caruana, 2006

Baby Hawk: Stockfish has the position rated as even.

   Jul-08-17 Spassky vs Portisch, 1961

Baby Hawk: Andrew Soltis in his book "Rethinking the chess pieces" uses this game to illustrate the strength of the R&B over R&N with Black having pawns on the color of the bishop.
