May-16-25 Zvjaginsev vs Topalov, 1995 (replies)

Cecco: In the final position, after 48. ... Kh3, this engine suggests 49. Kf2, which seems like a big mistake because of 49. ... Rd2+ 50. Kxf3 Rxa2. Does anyone know if White can win? In any case, 49. Bxf3 keeps the pawn and should be winning.

   Apr-05-25 Euwe vs D Przepiorka, 1928 (replies)

Cecco: By the way, why is there no biography for the great Dawid Przepiorka?

   Apr-04-25 Negi vs S Erenburg, 2005 (replies)

Cecco: If you meant 71 ... Kg3, the white queen on the first row forces 72 ... Kg2 and then White can play 73 Kf4, winning.

   Mar-30-25 J Piket vs R Douven, 1988 (replies)

Cecco: The white king is under the stairs, of course from black's point of view. For what it's worth, I like this pun.

   Feb-25-25 A Murariu vs N Grigore, 2001 (replies)

Cecco: Anyone who, like me, did not foresee the follow-up at least up to the point of winning the bishop (I had not even noticed that Black gets the rook back) cannot claim to have solved the puzzle.

   Jan-09-25 M Erdogdu vs Morozevich, 2010

Cecco: <MissScarlett>. I should have expected a worthy response from you to my sarcasm.

   Jan-06-25 I Raicevic vs D Anic, 1989 (replies)

Cecco: <geeker>, I agree. <Korora>, I don't even know who he is, but I'm guessing the punchline is "bye, bye, birdie," or something like that.

Jan-01-25 World Blitz Championship (2024) (replies)

Cecco: <beatgiant>, thank you, again, but I hope we can agree that this lack of transparency is apparently unjustified and, therefore, unacceptable.

   Dec-29-24 J O'Hanlon vs J Waterman, 1912 (replies)

Cecco: <Teyss>, many thanks for the detailed explanations. I should have checked the bio. <MissScarlett>, great pun.

Dec-28-24 Larsen vs Geller, 1960 (replies)

Cecco: <Granny O Doul: 21. Nf3!!, and the rest plays itself.>: definitely.
