I learned to play chess when I was five and played scholastically in junior high & high school. Since then have played off and on since then both in the US and in Scotland.

I play online at Internet Chess. My handle is also "chris00nj" and try to maintain an amateur chess blog: http://chesspundit.blogspot.com/

Chris00nj: Missed this one as well. Brilliant move by Bronstein.

   Sep-21-11 Kasparov vs Vachier-Lagrave, 2011 (replies)

Chris00nj: Great game and like the choice of opening. I imagine its hard for Kasparov to not look at a chess board. It's in his blood. Michael Jordan retired once from basketball. It's his return that really cemented his legacy as the best ever.

Chris00nj: I think we should go for a Semi-Slav, perhaps the anti-moscow gambit. 1. d4 d5 2. c4 c6 3. ♘f3 ♘f6 4. ♘c3 e6 5. ♗g5 h6 6. ♗h4 dxc4 7. e4 g5 8. ♗g3 b5 [DIAGRAM] .

Aug-09-11 Karpov vs Kasparov, 1985 (replies)

Chris00nj: According to the book "Endgame," this is the game that Bobby Fischer was convinced that proved the WC match "fixed", due to the consecutive number of moves Karpov made on the white squares.

Chris00nj: If you are bored, Short-Adams for the British championship is ongoing. http://www.britishchess2011.com/liv... Not sure why its not live here.

Jul-31-11 Kramnik vs Nakamura, 2011 (replies)

Chris00nj: Crafty scores Kramnik's line as -0.92 versus -0.16 with Nxd6. Naka may have winning chances now

Jul-28-11 Caruana vs Carlsen, 2011 (replies)

Chris00nj: With a victory locked up, I imagine an uneventful 30 move draw.

   Jul-28-11 Carlsen vs Vachier-Lagrave, 2011 (replies)

Chris00nj: <botvinnik64: BTW you guys should check out Moro-Caruana: that thing is wild!> It's the anti-Moscow gambit which leads to craziness. I'll (try to) play it so it is good game for me to follow

Jul-26-11 Shirov vs Carlsen, 2011 (replies)

Chris00nj: <haydn20: Is the patzer-like 28 Qh5 any good?> Yes. I think 28. Qh5 Rfe8 29. Qf5 might be promising
