Corben has kibitzed 30 times to chessgames   [less...]
Sep-22-03 Kramnik vs Naiditsch, 2003 (replies)
Corben: Kramnik`s style is simple and elegant, and incredibly similar to that of Capablanca. This has nothing to do with Petrosian`s style.
   Sep-16-03 R Hobson vs Jameson, 1966 (replies)
Corben: Ok this was a little more complex as it seemed at first glance, but only if black try to escape his fate. 12.Rxf6 Qxf6 13.Nxh7 Qd6 (if 13..Qg5,14. Bg5 wins that queen) 14.Qh5 (this requiered cool nerves) And here 2 tales: I. BLACK KEEPS THE FIGHT 14... g6 (or the knight goes ...
   Aug-25-03 Fischer vs T Hartwell, 1964 (replies)
Corben: This is more sac, sac, oops black has 2 passed pawns, and luck black hasnt sight of mate in 2.
Aug-23-03 Kamsky vs Anand, 1994 (replies)
Corben: AgentRgent, i think that after 20. Bxc5 blacks position stinks almost like a dead body, mainly for the passed pawn at 3 squares of anotation line, whites queen side superiority, traped rook in h8, and of course Kamskys geniality.
   Aug-23-03 J Schulten vs Kieseritzky, 1850 (replies)
Corben: Seems this man was getting closer to the inmortal game.
Aug-22-03 Greco vs NN, 1620 (replies)
Corben: I think the point is 6.cxd4, Greco loses castling but he gets a free column straight to the black king. This man understood chess in a subtle manner.
Aug-22-03 Greco vs NN, 1620 (replies)
Corben: Greco rules!
   Aug-18-03 Schlechter vs J Mieses, 1894 (replies)
Corben: You mean the loss of the queen, 31. Nf5 Qf8 32. Qg5+ Kh8 33. Qf6+ Kh7 34. Nh6+ and all is over. Seems Schlecther was a great player.
Aug-12-03 Spassky vs Tal, 1979 (replies)
Corben: And of course comrade Spassky resigned for after 23... Rh1+ theres no way to stop the black queen to pay a visit to the white King.
Aug-11-03 Kasparov vs Khalifman, 2002 (replies)
Corben: This was pure fear, blindness at Kasparovs sigth, one has to look only at that undeveloped black kings side, the lonely king at a8, and finally 22 ...f6. Was this a 1 min blitz?
