Craigokat: Hello. this is Craig's wife/partner, Annie. SO wonderful to hear such kind words from everyone. I especially enjoyed Once's Chess eulogy. I miss him terribly and I am sad for our 1 yr old daughter, as she will never know him first hand. Thank you to everyone...

   Jun-13-10 B Pantebre Martinez vs E Paoli, 1976 (replies)

Craigokat: This game reminds me of a comment made by the late Boris Kogan during the postmortem of a game we had just finished. After he obtained a pawn on the sixth rank (not passed but protected) he exclaimed "of coarse after this, all endings are lost"

   May-28-10 W Hook vs J Meyer, 1979 (replies)

   May-21-10 J H Blake vs G A Hooke, 1891 (replies)

Craigokat: A nice twist on Legal's mate

May-04-10 Topalov vs Anand, 2010 (replies)

Craigokat: Maybe black can hold by playing h5 and keeping the king on f7. still there may be some type of Zugzwang down the road

May-03-10 Anand vs Topalov, 2010 (replies)

Craigokat: To claim 3-fold , you must do so to the arbiter before your move that creates the key position.

Apr-30-10 Topalov vs Anand, 2010 (replies)

Craigokat: Fischer (among others) has instructively shown the clear edge of the B vs.the Kt with pawns on both sides of the board. In this position it seems that having more pawns actually shuts down the B to a certain extent and will ultimately provide an effective outpost for the knight. ...
