My name is Markus Jakobi, I am 52 years old and living in Wiesbaden, which is the capital of Hesse and a town 40 kilometers away from Frankfurt/Main in Germany. I am playing mail chess since I have been 14,5 years old (+15, =28, -18), but from 1982 until 2015 without computer assistance. My mail chess rating is Elo 2000 and my favourite chess players are Francois-André Danican Philidor (France, +), WC Dr Friedrich Baumbach ([East] Germany), GM Wolfgang Uhlmann ([East] Germany), GM Lev Polugaevsky (Soviet Union / Russia, +), WC Robert James Fischer (USA, +), GM Gennady Nesis (Soviet Union / Russia), WC Anatoly Karpov (Soviet Union / Russia), GM Stefan Kindermann (Austria/Germany), FM Dr Thomas Bohn ([West] Germany), WC Garry Kasparov (Soviet Union / Russia), Stefan Meyer ([West] Germany), Uwe Kettner ([West] Germany), Joerg Schultheis ([West] Germany), GM Igor Khenkin (Soviet Union / Russia/Germany), and WC Vladimir Kramnik (Soviet Union / Russia). I consider Garry Kasparov, Robert James Fischer, Anatoly Karpov, and Francois-André Danican Philidor as the four strongest chess players in history. In my opinion the three most talented chess players in history were/are WC José Raul Capablanca (Cuba, +), Paul Morphy (USA, +), and WC Viswanathan Anand (India). GM Judit Polgar (Hungary), WC Maia Chiburdanidze (Soviet Union / Georgia), WC Nona Gaprindashvili (Soviet Union / Georgia), Vera Menchik (England, +), WC Yifan Hou (China), WC Xie Jun (China), and GM Aleksandra Goryashkina (Russia) are/were the seven strongest female chess players in history. My favourite first moves with White are 1.d4, 1.c4, 1.Nf3, and 1.e4 and my favourite openings with black are the French, Sicilian Najdorf, Caro-Kann, Giuoco Piano, Ruy Lopez, King's Indian, Volga-Benko Gambit, Nimzo Indian, Queen's Indian, Modern Benoni, Blackmar-Diemer Gambit, and King's Indian Attack (Grunfeld Indian and Slav approach).
