The brain is a "Use It or Lose It" muscle. At my age, some choose crosswords or sudoku. I choose to spend more time on chess. Lasker is my favorite player. I learned the game via the dead language of descriptive notation. I have a collection of Fred Reinfeld chess books. My opening repertoire fits on an index card. But I'm on my way... ;)

"Chess, like love, like music, has the power to make men happy" -Siegbert Tarrasch

"I keep on fighting as long as my opponent can make a mistake" -Emanuel Lasker

ForkedAgain: When will we just admit that chess has become a game of draws? I think Capa said that like 90 years ago.

ForkedAgain: They can draw after 30 moves, right? That's where this is going.

ForkedAgain: "The King is a fighting piece!" I see Carlsen as effectively up a piece.

ForkedAgain: Funny how when the tournament is over the comments get more and more disgusting.
Jan-22-17 Rapport vs Carlsen, 2017 (replies)
ForkedAgain: So sad to be washed up at 26. Lasker was kicking ass and taking names in his 60's.

ForkedAgain: I was a new signup during the Carlsen-Karjakin match, but it turns out that this is a community that I want no part of.

ForkedAgain: Ok, so how do we keep the excitement from this match going for the next couple of years? Asking for a friend....

ForkedAgain: What is wrong with you people? This was a great match. A great format, tiebreakers and all. A great challenger, who exceeded all expectations. A great champ who ultimately prevailed in classic style. Give the bitching a rest. I love the match and the games but this comment ...

ForkedAgain: Carlsen-Karjakin is starting to feel like Lasker-Schlechter.
