   Nov-30-08 Eichborn vs Anderssen, 1855

Halofire: Nice game, i don't think that black played very soundly though. White had a very nice checkmate and many nice attacks that gained a lot of material.

Halofire: why Bg4?

   Nov-14-08 Staunton vs Saint-Amant, 1843 (replies)

Halofire: Um...? Maybe im missing something but why not 19.Qxd6? That puts black ahead by a knight.

May-28-08 NN vs Greco, 1620 (replies)

Halofire: I think a better plan of development for white(and it would be a more aggressive option as well) would be on move 7. Instead of wasting the intiative and giving black more use for his move Re8, it should go 7.b4(similar to the Evans Gambit)Bb6 8.Qb3 then black's responses become ...

May-27-08 G da Cutri vs Ruy Lopez, 1575 (replies)

Halofire: Why 6.h3? It's alittle late if it attempts to block the white bishop. It wastes a tempo and the better move would be Nc3. When black made 6.f4 the easy counter would have been h3 then instead of wasting a tempo before.

   May-12-08 E Schallopp vs E Varain, 1893

Halofire: man black go owned. It all started when he gave up a tempo allowing 13.Ng5 and then allowing Nxe6. Bad play by black.

May-07-08 Manakov vs Karpov, 1962 (replies)

Halofire: ouch, Nd3 was a huge fork. After that white's attempts to equalize are meaningless...

   May-05-08 A Shneider vs Karpov, 1961 (replies)

Halofire: i would have done 16.Bxf4 securing the center and winning the pawn. I have played the King's Gambit Accepted a lot and that pawn can become a nuisance if not a full out threat if left unchecked. After he makes the move 17.Nd5 then retreat the bishop to the safety of g3. From there ...

   May-05-08 V Kalashnikov vs Karpov, 1961 (replies)

Halofire: 26.Rxf6 makes no sense at all.

May-04-08 Karpov vs Mukhudulin, 1961 (replies)

Halofire: Very interesting game. Black had a great kingside counter attack going on there and somehow it just dissapated into nothing. f5 started it and it just got better with both bishops opening up and the rooks doubling on the kingside for the attack. Then just as the attack began to ...
