Kansas City Mark: 46. Rd2 is met with 46...Ra2!, a beautiful cross-pin. Superb positional squeeze by Browne.
   May-12-13 T Gareyev vs C Holt, 2013 (replies)
Kansas City Mark: Incredible game. The final position perfectly depicts how close it was. Holt wanted to win so badly you could feel it. And Gareev's defense was fantastic. It was exhausting to watch. I can't imagine how the players felt.
   May-11-13 C Holt vs Benjamin, 2013 (replies)
Kansas City Mark: Great game by White. The activation of White's Q, QR, and B after 16. Qa3 and 18. Qa7 was pretty to see. I think ...Ne5 and particularly ...g5 contributed significantly to Black's defeat as Qb5(!) followed by Re1 forced a decisive weakening of Black's second rank after ...
   May-10-13 C Holt vs Onischuk, 2013
Kansas City Mark: Great game. White looks like he has it after 29. e6 and 30. g5 but Black's 30...Rd4 leads to great counterplay. Well played by both players.

Kansas City Mark: Superb game by Black. White was outplayed in every phase. I see Karpov stamped hard on this guy. From the ultra-solid opening, the pursuit of a space advantage on one side of the board, then alternating his use of open lines. And finally converting the positional advantage ...
   May-07-13 C Holt vs Kamsky, 2013 (replies)
Kansas City Mark: Regarding 35. Bf1 my guess is White had no interest in continuing the exchange down with c5 ready to fall as well. But I think Bf1 should have been played at an earlier point, maybe before opening up the game with b4. 27. c5 cut off Qa5's access to e5 and Black took full ...
   May-05-13 C Holt vs A Ramirez Alvarez, 2013
Kansas City Mark: Excellent game. Just superb control. White's control of a4 and c4 followed by the central breakthrough is very Karpovian. Really looking forward to see how Conrad does the rest of the way.
