i like tal, kasparov, fischer, alekhine, capablanca, lasker, morphy, nimzowitsch, rubinstein, reti, smyslov, botvinnik, bronstein, spassky, petrosian, leonid stein, keres, geller, gligoric, nezhmetdinov, karpov, korchnoi, taimanov, polugaevsky, timman, larsen, portisch, ljubojevic, ulf andersson, tony miles, seirawan, beliavsky, kamsky, kramnik, morozevich, ivanchuk, anand, topalov, shirov, leko, michael adams, khalifman, judith polgar, etc. i'm 22 & my birthday's the same as volodya kramnik. i'm jonathan (jon for short). i collect strongly programmed table-top chess computers, although i've got fritz, shredder, junior, & hiarcs playing programs as well. my most recent table-top chess computer purchase is the saitek mephisto senator chess computer. it's in elegant wood finish & plays a decently strong 2400 ELO.

MalibogKantutero: hello everybody...who is winning or has the advantage?
Jun-29-04 Kharlov vs Topalov, 2004 (replies)
MalibogKantutero: topalov is playing like a madman (a brilliant madman, that is). i was wondering if it's simply brilliant intuition or precise calculation. he played this game like a mikhail tal (or a younger g.k.). or maybe i don't know what i'm talking!

MalibogKantutero: amazing!! 9 wins & 1 draw out of 10 games! topalov's performance rating at this wcc has got to be somewhere around 3000 to 4000 ELO. watch out, mickey adams! (and mr. kasparov).
   Jun-28-04 Adams vs V Akopian, 2004 (replies)
MalibogKantutero: adam's winning! yeyyy!

MalibogKantutero: his condensed one volume book "Modern Chess Strategy" is still one of my favorites.
Jun-26-04 Nakamura vs Adams, 2004 (replies)
MalibogKantutero: 26.d5 led to white's defeat.
   Jun-25-04 Yasser Seirawan (replies)
MalibogKantutero: <WMD> is it because seirawan played cautious chess in that match? i believe adams had a difficult time beating seirawan.

MalibogKantutero: hi jaime. i'm a big fan of the pirc also (since i'm a bigger fan of the king's indian as black, it just makes sense liking the pirc). do you happen to have "the ultimate pirc" book by john nunn? also "pirc alert" by lev alburt. those are good ones, i think.
