   May-30-17 Fischer vs B Larsen, 1971 (replies)

Mithrain: A really complex game! What a tense and interesting battle took place in the first round!!

May-25-17 Fischer vs Taimanov, 1971 (replies)

Mithrain: A classical ending which every chess player can learn from. While I was reading the countless comments of this game, 10 years later the following comment made my day (referring to White's plan of sacrificing the Bishop on the g6-square): <Sneaky: That's one difference between ...

May-19-17 Taimanov vs Fischer, 1971 (replies)

Mithrain: What a complex game indeed! Great fighting-chess!

May-17-17 Gligoric vs Fischer, 1970 (replies)

Mithrain: I would like to remark the nice positional idea 12 ... g5!? (if I am not wrong, it was a novelty at that time) which gains control over the dark-squares. In the end, the e5- and f4- squares were the clear protagonist in this game.

May-16-17 Fischer vs Mecking, 1970 (replies)

Mithrain: Althought the 19th White's move was really nice, what I truly admire is Fischer's technique. Black's position is not that easy to crack and Bobby showed how to beat Mecking slowly but surely.

Mithrain: Another Bishop vs Knight from Fischer. I wonder if he did learn to play this position so well by himself or it was inspired but another great player. Nevertheless, great game by Bobby!

May-14-17 Uhlmann vs Fischer, 1970 (replies)

Mithrain: Interesting comment by <drukenknight: See these guys dont really see 20 moves deep they just create tricky problem for the opponent.> Indeed, Fischer (we may say that Carlsen nowadays as well) created many little (or not that little) problems to his opponents and in the end ...

May-11-17 Fischer vs Tukmakov, 1970 (replies)

Mithrain: <keypusher> Thank you! The game you mentioned was the first time that Fischer used that idea, right? Another great game which is based on the same position is Fischer vs Ulf Andersson, 1970 Moreover, in this game Fischer used the same idea (the g-file) as the game you ...

May-10-17 Fischer vs Unzicker, 1970 (replies)

Mithrain: Another fascinating game by Fischer. He did understand better the middlegame (14. f5 idea) and with his characteristic technique won a great game!

May-04-17 Fischer vs Stein, 1967 (replies)

Mithrain: What a complex game! It is not without reason that the Spanish opening is so rich positionally and tactically as well! A lot of to learn from this marvelous battle!!
