   Nov-12-23 A Zapolskis vs S Maze, 2016

Musicrafter: Zepolskis plays the 5. g4 "Chinese variation" (highly associated with this game: W Liu vs J H Donner, 1978 ) but Maze, unlike Donner, responds in the theoretically best way with ...d5! and wins.

Oct-27-23 Tal vs Spassky, 1965 (replies)

Musicrafter: Tal was playing the Kasparov Anti-Marshall before the Anti-Marshalls were cool. Interesting opening decisions in an era when the Marshall was not as feared as it is today.

Oct-04-23 Gelfand vs Smirin, 2005 (replies)

Musicrafter: Are you sure he didn't recommend Qf7 instead? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dol...

Sep-26-23 Stockfish vs AlphaZero, 2018 (replies)

Musicrafter: Interesting how white offered a draw by repetition on multiple occasions and black refused it, only to go on to lose.

   Aug-20-23 Kramnik vs Grischuk, 2014

Musicrafter: There is a key difference between these games - Grischuk here interpolated 9... O-O, whereas Kasparov played the immediate 9... Bg4, which is probably an inferior move. It should be noted that Garry himself seems to have solved the problems with this variation by switching to ...

   Aug-19-23 R Nezhmetdinov vs Lusikal, 1951 (replies)

Musicrafter: This entire game up until black's 24th was duplicated 41 years later in H Klarenbeek vs B van Gaalen, 1992 . Very curious.

   Aug-19-23 H Klarenbeek vs B van Gaalen, 1992

Musicrafter: This game is almost an exact duplicate of R Nezhmetdinov vs Lusikal, 1951 until black's 24th. Lusikal played ...Kf4 and was met with 25. Be5+ Kxe4 26. Ng5#. I wonder what the circumstances surrounding this game were.

   May-28-23 J Szukszta vs Tal, 1956

Musicrafter: Interesting note: there are some comments about how Tal's 11...Nc6??! is a blunder. That's true. But in my opinion this game is not really tarnished by it since by simply adjusting the move order the combination becomes fully correct, and indeed black has an advantage from the ...

   Feb-17-23 Kasparov vs J Piket, 1995 (replies)

Musicrafter: This game needs a new name. It was already used on Piket vs Kasparov, 1989 , a considerably more famous game at any rate.
