   May-26-25 T Stanciu vs D Drimer, 1968

NimzoWitch: The final position is not correct. White would lose. Possibly the following moves need to be inserted: 45. Rf1 Nc6 (?) 41...Nc6 is a bad move as shown in Neishtadt book "Improve Your Chess Tactics" - diagram #88

   Nov-21-24 Suttles vs Kavalek, 1967

NimzoWitch: In his book "A Matter of Endgame Technique" (Quality Chess) Jacob Aagaard shows that in the final position Black is winning. His analysis starts with 41... Rh1+ and it is quoted in a New In Chess review by Matthew Sadler. https://www.newinchess.com/blog/pos...

   Feb-06-24 S Khan vs A H Gould, 1931

NimzoWitch: There is no racism in Daniel King book! Just reading the Epilogue (pages 363-365) should suffice to understand the very sympathetic attitude that the English GM shows towards Sultan Khan. Actually this book and the plea in the Epilogue might have played not a small part in ...

   Jan-14-24 NN vs E Diemer, 1973

NimzoWitch: "Encounter of dubious authenticity" as written by Alan Dommet in his book "Emil Josef Diemer, A Life Devoted to Chess" (last game in the book).

   Dec-14-23 Duda vs Aronian, 2020

NimzoWitch: Jacob Aagaard analyzes the game in his book "A Matter of Endgame Technique" and shows that 51...Rh7? throws away the win and 52. Rb6? throws away the draw. Correct are 51...Rh5 and , after 51 ... Rh7, it is 52.a4 that draws. Apparently Alex Yarmolinsky's video series "Every ...

Aug-06-23 Spassky vs Fischer, 1972 (replies)

NimzoWitch: Tibor Karolyi, in his 2022 book "Fisher - Spassky 1972 Match of the Century Revisited" provides the ultimate analysis for this game. He shows that there were three moves for Black that can draw: the well known 39...e5 as well as 39 ...Kf5 and 39...g6

   Aug-08-22 Alekhine vs Lasker, 1924

NimzoWitch: This game was included in many games collections. Remarkable notes in "John Nunn's Chess Course (2014) and Franco Zenon's "Lasker Move By Move" (2018).

Aug-06-22 Taimanov vs Fischer, 1960 (replies)

NimzoWitch: 31. b4! is the move that would have won a piece (and the game) as shown by Aagaard in "I was a Victim of Bobby Fischer" by Mark Taimanov. Aagaard adds Chapters 19 & 20 in the book with 12 interesting positions - this is the first of them with the solution on page 210.

   Aug-04-22 Alekhine vs R Trenkamp, 1924

NimzoWitch: Less than 2 months later, the 55 year old Emanuel Lasker will soundly beat Alekhine (with the same opening). Alekhine vs Lasker, 1924

   Jul-27-22 Najdorf vs Spielmann, 1934

NimzoWitch: Both players missed that: 38. Qe2 ?? should lose to: 38... Qxe2 39. Kxe2 Kf6 40. Kd3/e3/f3 Ke5
