| Hello, my name is Eric and I'm 54 and I have loved and studied chess players and history for years. My (inactive) USCF rating is 1749. I'm more of a chess bibliophile and archivist than a player at present. I study many players, mostly Nimzowitsch, Spielmann, Tartakower, Reti, all the world champions and the contenders. I came across this site by chance. My favorite is now Chessgames! I've got notebooks on all my favorite players. It is a joy to play over lesser-known games such as Spielmann's win over Alekine at Carlsbad, 1923. That is inspirational for tournament preparaton. |
