   Apr-13-24 K Georgiev vs A Beliavsky, 2001

ProSemi: 67. ... Kh6?? 68. Kg8, winning for White. GM Beliavsky's natural instinct for aggression aligns beautifully with the requirements of the position and of course he plays the correct 67. ... Kh4.

   May-19-22 D Filipovich vs P J Sowray, 2022

ProSemi: 24. Nc6? hands the advantage and then some to Black. White must attack! After 24. Ng6 N:g6 25 Q:g6 White is better, for example ... Bf7 loses a pawn to 26. Q:f5.

ProSemi: 31. Qe5+ Q:e5 32. f:e g5 33. Kg2! Kh6 34. e6! Kg7 35. Kg3 Kf6 36. Kg4 h6 37. e7! K:e7 38. Kf5 and White will win the opposition, and then the game. Gunning for three pawn islands vs. two was the way to go - against the K+P ending "rule" that having more pawn islands is a bad thing.

   May-09-08 P Bierkens vs D Filipovich, 2008

ProSemi: 38) e3 ?? throws away the win. Black has two pieces hanging, but thanks to the threat of f1(Q)+ he has just enough time to solve both problems, though he must start now. The simplest is 38) ... Rc7 39) Kg2 Bd4

Dec-07-06 Psakhis vs Speelman, 1988 (replies)

ProSemi: 22. B:c6 looks like a good practical alternative to the text - ... N:c1 23. Ba4 Rd1 24. B:d1 R:d1 is unclear. Who is pinning who ?

   Jul-29-06 A Wojtkiewicz vs D Filipovich, 2001 (replies)

ProSemi: After the game my opponent said he had never seen this 7. ... Nb4 !?variation before, which drove home to me just how strong he was e.g. he used only 14 minutes for his first 13 moves. 16. ... Qa5 was a better try when Black still has an O.K. game. 13. ... Qa5! 14. Nbd2 R:b3 15. ...

   May-21-06 A Stefanova vs O Stjazhkina, 2003

ProSemi: Did Black run out of time here? 52. ... Ra3+ looks like a draw.

   Apr-27-05 Kudrin vs D Filipovich, 2004

ProSemi: 12) ... Nc6 is a new move in this position. 23) ... Qd5+ 24) Kc2 Nc4 or 23) ... Qd5+ 24) Kc1 Q:a2 retains a healthy advantage for Black. 23) ... Q:c5? lets White's queen back into the game. Too bad !
