Hello! I'm User: karpova and I created this profile to provide reliable information on Akiba Rubinstein 's Lifetime scores against the greatest players of his day.

Based on this database (which is not complete) and "The Life & Games of Akiva Rubinstein - Volume 1: Uncrowned King" by IM Donaldson and IM Minev (second edition) and "Volume 2: The Later Years" (second edition). I will give you the correct scores and add information on missing games that influence the statistics by the use of footnotes (only for decisive games), i.e. a number in brackets e.g. (x). The scores will always be presented from Rubinstein's point of view so a "win" is always a win for Rubinstein, same goes for the footnotes. I'll start with his worst records.

<Rubinstein's negative scores:>

Alexander Alekhine 5-8 (+5 =2 -8). (1)

Footnotes:

(1) Second win against Alekhine in the Russian National tournament in Vilna 1912 is not in the database.

(2) A win from the WTZGSz tournament in Warsaw 1910 (Oct-17 to Nov-5) is missing.

(3) A win from the 5-stage 36-player tournament in Ostende 1906 is missing. I didn't include a win by forfeit (Chigorin lost 12/16 games by forfeit) from St.Petersburg 1906 in the score.

(4) A win from a handicap tournament in Lodz 1903/04 (both surely belonged to the first category and therefore played on equal terms) is missing.

(5) A win from the 5-stage 36-player tournament in Ostende 1906 (3d stage) and a win from a Handicap tournament (round 2, they played on equal terms) in Stockholm 1919/20 are missing. A loss from Triberg 1921 is missing.

(6) A loss from the 5-stage 36-player tournament in Ostende 1906 is missing.

(7) Two losses from their match in 1908 are missing.

(8) A win from their first match in 1908 is missing.

(9) A massive amount of games is missing so I just give the (almost) correct score since especially results from tournaments during WW1 are not available.
