The apex of my chess experience happened during the mid 1960's when a friend who worked at Ambassador College arranged for us both to be in the gallery when Bobby Fischer gave an exhibition match against our local masters. I was unable to keep up with the games as Fischer was playing at lightning speed. He won 14 and drew 3 as I recall, in the period of about 45 minutes. What I recall most clearly is the look on Fischers face. He had won most of the games in his mind before the 10th move and had gone beyond that, critiquing his opponents moves, now and then sadly shaking his head as he noted the various blunders. Young and impressionable, Fischer left me awestruck. His chess acumen was superhuman to my mind and these many years later after reviewing his games over and over, I have not changed my opinion in the slightest.

Sniffles: Not sure what white was thinking with 35. Re5. Staring a trade down dead in the face and a nasty pawn disadvantage. Even a walking brainfart like me saw that one coming.

Sniffles: Narration: W: Let's get that knight out of the way. B: Nertz, hand the center to that darned queen. W: Incoming bishop. B: Not so fast, guy. W: How about a rook to spice things up? B: How about rook go suck eggs. W: My queen wants a hug. B: I'm out of here. W: ...

Sniffles: Mr. Burgess appears to have used Tal's deep dark forest, complete with the mandatory weird sacrifices.

   May-10-19 O Brendel vs T Chapman, 2017 (replies)

Sniffles: Weird. Stockfish proceeds to lose the game for white: 27.Qxh7+ Kf7 28.Rxg7+ ???

   Feb-05-19 R Edouard vs T Casper, 2009 (replies)

Sniffles: Now that's a cute little trap and makes up for yesterdays no brainer. A passed pawn and no way to stop it.

Sniffles: Somewhere between a poisoned piece and a sucker punch.

   Oct-09-18 G Danner vs A Milnes, 2008 (replies)

Sniffles: As the sabre toothed kitty once remarked, "Bet you didn't see that one coming." That has to be a contender for the most poisonous piece to ever grace a chessboard.

Sniffles: Diagonalley Simple Queen Sac

   May-25-18 M Antipov vs S Ivanov, 2017 (replies)

Sniffles: I'm not seeing why black didn't resign at 31. Hoping his opponent suddenly goes airhead isn't the mark of a GM.

   May-08-18 E Safarli vs A Donchenko, 2017 (replies)

Sniffles: Around 13. Black was playing like s/he was 1000 points lower than White. This is obviously not a Tal game.
