Stefan Buecker: Apperly - Charlick was not a corr. game. It was played in December 1894 in a match on 15 boards between Adelaide and Unley. A contemporary source says that Mr. Apperly played below his usual form.

Stefan Buecker: Yes!! to both comments. When I resigned, Hort was angry: nice checkmates should be played till the bitter end. He was right, shame on me.
