   Oct-03-18 J K Duda vs Caruana, 2018 (replies)
Tactical Wizard: No with perfect play R & B vs R is a draw. Caruana will test his opponent for awhile before offering a draw.
   Aug-01-17 D Howell vs Graham J Moore, 2017 (replies)
Tactical Wizard: White captured pawn on h5 on move 100. 50 move rule means no pawn moves nor pawn captures. Mr Moore would have to survive until move 150 to claim the draw.
   Jul-25-17 Alan Shaw (replies)
Tactical Wizard: I know Alan from Vermont days. He stayed at my place in 1984 while playing Toronto International that summer. A very friendly guy and a good chess player. Happy belated birthday Alan.
   Mar-28-17 Spassky vs M Bieler, 2009 (replies)
Tactical Wizard: I have met Spassky 3 or 4 times over the years but never at a simul. I remember in Montreal 1979 he was playing at a tournament eventually won by Tal and Karpov. I bowled in a league at that time at Laurentian Lanes and lo and behold Spassky and his wife showed up one league

Tactical Wizard: What Reddington also said was this game ended the Cold War. Maybe premature but about the only thing from the plot I could understand.
   Aug-16-14 K Spraggett vs G Glen, 1975 (replies)
Tactical Wizard: Black in this game is actually Graham Glen (names are reversed). Graham played in Canadian Championship when Ivanov won in the mid 1980's I believe.

Tactical Wizard: After looking at picture of the site for the Candidates I can only add that other than the unusual buildings that scene could be Michigan today. Tactical Wizard.
Feb-14-14 Larry Evans vs Lombardy, 1972 (replies)
Tactical Wizard: JerseyBob: in my days of tournament chess in Canada it was customary for the white player to start the black players clock if that player were absentat the start of the game. When black arrived at the board he would then start the white clock and the white player would make ...
Apr-02-13 World Championship Candidates (2013) (replies)
Tactical Wizard: I have followed this tournament closely for the past 17 days or so. I won't comment on the tie break as so many others have already had their say. To me this was the most dramatic and eventful tournament I can remember and I am 60 years of age. Even though I was at work on ...
