May-31-10 William Addison

Vollmer: I am fairly confident that Mr. Addison was quite amused that he quit competitive chess at his peak rating . I am also amused . Well done . RIP |

Vollmer: What's this , no pic of Mr. Soltis ? <headshake> |

Apr-26-10 Anand - Topalov World Championship Match (2010)
|
Vollmer: I haven't changed my mind . I still think 12 is too few . 18 would be much better . Just my opinion . |

Apr-26-10 Anand vs Topalov, 2010
|
Vollmer: Don't ya hate it when all the pieces but one each side leaves the field and you are lost . Take notice that it happens to the top players too . Apparently Anand looked far and saw clear , bravo dude . Quite a contrast to game one . |

Oct-09-09 Grischuk vs Aronian, 2009
|
Vollmer: After a quick look I am wondering if the position after 13...Qe7 is worth a second look . Its quite dynamic and IMHO 14.0-0 might be a mistake . Methinks this might be one of those rare games where neither side needs to castle . |

Sep-27-09 Anatoly Karpov
|
Vollmer: I will also add that I think that if Kasparov had this attitude , the chess community wouldn't argue about who is the best player . |
