Apr-06-09 Kasparov vs Shirov, 2001 (replies)
alanelbaum: alexrawlings, I think it's because he wants to keep his c-pawn. If black takes it after 28. Bb4, then 29. Rxd4 seems strong. But if 28. Bxc7 Rxc6, then 29. Rxd4 doesn't work.
Mar-19-09 Kramnik vs Leko, 2004 (replies)
alanelbaum: Archives, try Tal-Lisitsin 1956
Feb-19-09 Bronstein vs Tal, 1968 (replies)
alanelbaum: Does anyone know why Bronstein gives 12.Ba3 two exclamation marks? Is it something to do with 12...Bxc2 not working? For that matter, why doesn't 12...Bxc2 work?
Jan-23-09 Marshall vs Schlechter, 1902 (replies)
alanelbaum: Is 8...Qxg2? ever played?
   Jan-07-09 O Wieczorek vs M Olszewski, 2008 (replies)
alanelbaum: what's wrong with 58. Rxf1? I feel like an extra rook should be able to deal with two pawns.
   Dec-14-08 A Khasin vs Taimanov, 1997 (replies)
alanelbaum: Why did white resign? I don't see how black can win any material after 17.Rfd1.
