| I learned chess at the age of 5-6 by my oldest brother. I became quite active playing again about two years ago having completed a Ph.D. in history. I didn't have a lot of time to devote to studying chess but did play lots of correspondence chess and have earned a Master rating (USCF). My favorite American players are Morphy and Pillsbury. I'm now actively studying to improve my OTB play as it is quite different from Correspondence play. It's a fun journey and, to put it simply, I love the game! |
