what's up yall. first of all, let's just get one thing straight. i'm a not a nerd. i promise. i like chess a lot, but i think you can still be a normal person and love chess. for instance: i like long walks on the beach AND queens up in yo face. i'm 20 years old, male, live in southern california, and i'd say i'm in the top .001 percentile of chess players when it comes to having at least average social skills, not to mention good looks :)

bobby fischer used to be my favorite chess player but after i read a bunch of stuff about him (hatred towards the US, anti-semitism, going over chess variations at the dinner table on his miniature set) and rather funny loony bin stuff like his "I was tortured in a Pasadena Jailhouse" story, i switched favorites over to Jose Raul Capablanca. Although reading about fischer further developed a sympathetic and fond attitude in me towards him (his Jailhouse account shows his extremely logical mind and genius and rather funny take on life occurances) I have to go with Capa because I don't agree with fischer's beliefs and treatment of issues such as 9-11. I appreciate Capa's pretty and potent style of play and can relate a bit to his lack of work ethic required to play to his greatest potential.

Lastly in my bio, I have one request. If anyone has EVER seen a hot chess playing female post a huge kibitz in all CAPS declaring this finding to the world. The downfall of chess will not be the necessity of extensive knowledge of opening theory, or computers that can out-play Kasparov, it will be the depopularization by lack of hot female chess players. That said, I hope the FIDE and USCF people heed this wise advice and sponsor some babes! Look what Anna Kournikova did for tennis...need I say more? If you are a chess playing babe I highly suggest getting into some tourneys and getting some exposure by way of sponsorship, wheaties box covers, whatever. And for the not so appearance gifted, at least maintain balance in your lives for your sake and the sake of the chess image. Kings to you!
