Zdravo zivo! I come from Belgrade, Serbia and I'm a patzer (to such extent that I don't even have an OTB rating).

I noticed that it is customary to list your favourite players here. I like Lasker, because of his approach to the game, and Spassky, because of his versatility. Of the active guys, i like Aronian and Svidler.

You can find me under this name on and on Gameknot. I play both e4 and d4. Be afraid. :)

donjova: <devere: According to FIDE rules qualifying by rating requires playing in grand prix or world cup.> Ah yes, I completely forgot that condition. Please continue, nothing to see here. :)

donjova: <jith1207>, qualifications for Candidates have nothing to do with Grand Chess Tour. Sorry if you already knew it, your post was worded as if you thought these events are related. :) Anyway, one good progress tracker for the Candidates is here: ...

donjova: I have to admit my mistake: I was wrong for thinking that discussion with a person whose posts have that infamous tolengoyish vibe can be fruitful in any way.

donjova: <cormier: for 3 or 4 years i hoped and thought Grichuk was the best contender, but one way or the other he couldn't get throught> He did quite well in this GP series. 26 games without defeat so far. Unfortunately, it seems he will not have enough wins. +5 =21 -0

donjova: Congrats to Tan! She had one roller coaster of a tournament and survived it all. Commiserations to A.M. So close.
   Mar-02-17 Z Tan vs A Muzychuk, 2017 (replies)
donjova: <Richard Taylor: Russia versus China.> Muzychuk comes from Ukraine. She is not even an ethnic Russian from Ukraine, she's from Galicia.

donjova: <beenthere240: And if she could continue to draw, she will eventually reach the 2700+ level.> :) She'll play Hammmer or Salem Saleh sooner or later. No points for draw there.

donjova: About naming; this page might be interesting to you :)
Feb-24-17 Nakamura vs Grischuk, 2017 (replies)
donjova: <Nakamura repeats Svidlers game against Grischuk from ten years ago.> Grischuk's quote: "The theory hasn't changed, but I have changed, that's the problem! At that time you could wake me up in the middle of the night and I would tell all the lines... Not the case now."
   Feb-24-17 Y Hou vs Polgar, 2012 (replies)
donjova: <beenthere240:> Hou indeed can play effectively against the top players (who happen to be men), it is enough to look at her rating to see that she is very, very strong grandmaster. However, she still has a lot of catching up to do to even get close to Judit Polgar's ...
