   Jun-19-25 Greco vs NN, 1620

joeld: Surely this game needs to be given the pun "Never mof6!", credit to Ben Finegold.

Jun-19-25 Kotov vs Petrosian, 1949 (replies)

joeld: The name I gave this game in my database is "Checks, Captures, and Threats". I propose this for the daily game pun.

   Jun-15-25 S Nedeljkovic vs A Matanovic, 1950

joeld: Beautiful "closing the cage" at the end. These moves are often hard to find when calculating mating attacks. I found this combination in Aleksander Kostyev's book From Beginner to Expert in 40 Lessons translated by Jon Speelman.

   Jun-12-25 A Rubezov vs G Borisenko, 1960

joeld: Didn't Borisenko's mother even teach him: don't play with your food before you eat it!

   Jun-10-25 Giri vs J Christiansen, 2013 (replies)

joeld: Quite a beautiful game. I love how Giri puts a lockdown on the f-file, locks the opponent's king out of the game, advances his own, and simply wins the endgame.

   Jun-10-25 Maroczy vs Marshall, 1907

joeld: The White queen is out being frisky with the Black queen's husband, while she knows that her husband is safe at home, not doing anything naughty.

   Jun-01-25 Hodgson vs F Hellers, 1994 (replies)

joeld: Hodgson has a video that features this game. It's called Combat Chess #2 All-out Attack

   Jun-01-25 M Kamyshov vs A Sokolsky, 1938

joeld: I can't believe nobody has pointed out that this is similar to J L Hammer vs Carlsen, 2003

   May-27-25 Tolush vs Simagin, 1952

joeld: Petrosian used Simagin's theme against him a few years later in Petrosian vs Simagin, 1956

   May-26-25 Glucksberg vs Najdorf, 1930

joeld: Chernev in The Bright Side of Chess also has this one dated to 1935
