   May-16-14 F A Hoffmann vs Alexander Petrov, 1844 (replies)
kluto: After 12...O-O 13.Nxd8, the mate is fairly obvious. The thing is that you have to sit at the board and think of the move 12... O-O in the first place. Had Hoffmann played the natural 11.Be4, then who would have heard of him 170 years later? (Hint: noone.) So in a sense he made a ...
May-03-14 Beliavsky vs Nunn, 1985 (replies)
kluto: When world class grandmasters play a game full of mistakes and oversights, it seems to automatically qualify as a "game of the century". It may be fun to watch, like blooper videos on youtube. I just hope that the young chess students do not take to it as an example.
May-03-14 Kasparov vs Topalov, 1999 (replies)
kluto: I don't believe 30...Qc4 was a mistake: after 30...Rhe8 31.Rb6 White has to win anyway. The losing mistake was 24...cxd4?, where 24...Kb6! would have been winning.
   Oct-22-11 Adams vs Shirov, 2007
kluto: 45.Kd2?? and gone.
Jul-29-11 Grischuk vs Svidler, 2007 (replies)
kluto: Perhaps Svidler will play 21...O-O-O the next time. Maybe just as fun.
Jul-16-11 Kramnik vs Morozevich, 2007 (replies)
kluto: 16...d3 looks like a really poor move. Why does he not ever play Ra7.
   Jul-08-11 Kramnik vs Svidler, 2007
kluto: Lucky Kramnik it wasn't a boxing match. In chess he still gets a draw. He was standing KO at the end.
